More Pieces

Finally getting around to adding some new pieces to my shop (probably tomorrow). Got some photography lights so that I don't have to wait for a nice sunny day.  I took these shots of my new chairs and lounges tonight around eight o'clock.  The last chair turned out a bit darker than what the grey fabric looks like.

New Chairs for Etsy Shop

Finally got around to finishing the pillows so that these chairs can be listed in my shop.  The blue flowered one has a repair to the back of it so it will be listed at a reduced price.  Also, for those that are interested another shot of the sd size bjd I'm currently sculpting.  She's finally beginning to look less creepy and somewhat cute.  Recently I began working on her torso so there should be pics of that at some point.  I am trying to update the blog more often than I have in the past.  n_n
Also, a new design of sofa that will be done soon and added to the shop eventually. lol

Big F'ing Chair

Finally getting things in gear.  Here are some pics of a unupholstered (don't think that's actually a word) chair in 1/3 scale.

Side by side comparison.  1/4 scale to 1/3 scale.
Could use some legs. n_n

Pj Bottoms, Summer Dresses and Shrugs. . . .and some more head pics

Hello again.  Here are some random pics of the MSD clothing I'm working on.  Found this cute fabric in my stash and decided to make some pjs out of it.  Long and shorts versions.  Will also make some t-shirts to go along as well.
I should really have taken a photo of a doll in the sundress but couldn't be bothered to do so.  I'm in a bit of a lazy mood today.
Also, here are some new shots of my bjd that I'm trying to make.  This time she has the beginning of some ears and I filled in her eyes and changed their position and shape.  She's looking a bit better but for some reason I'm still not thrilled with how she looks.  I was thinking that I should move on and start working on her upper torso and arms and leave the head for a while.  Not working on it for a while and then coming back to it I might see it in a different light and . . . well. . . you sort of know what I mean.
Any way here are the photos. . .enjoy
When the shrug is done I will need to post a pic of it with the dress on a doll.
Sorry for the naked dolly n_n

Looking at this pic I find that I'm not thrilled with the side view.  Maybe the chin and the mouth need changing.

Clothes and a Head Update

Decided to spend April working on some doll clothes and accessories instead of furniture.  So here's some pics of Feeple and Minifee sized leggings and sweatshirts.
These kind of look more like panama tops than sweatshirts. lol

The pink fabric is the left over from a t-shirt I made sometime ago but the grey with the hearts is from a Spoonflower order.  I only got a small piece to test out their new cotton spandex jersey.  Will definitely be ordering some more.

Some Feeple size t-shirts

So here's the latest progress on making my own ball jointed doll.  This is the second face I've given her.  The first one got chopped off and sanded down. n_n

Here's a bit of a profile shot.  The more I look at these photos the more I find things that I need to change. lol

Chaise Lounge and a Head

Been a bit quiet around here lately.  Sorry, I just haven't been in the mood for posting anything I have been working on.  So here's what I done.
I've gotten some requests through my etsy shop for chaise lounges, so I made one to see if it would workout.  It did.  The fabric that I used is in the wrong scale the butterflies are too large. n_n  Other than the fabric I think that it did come out well for the first try.  it's about 13 inches long by 5 1/5 inches wide.  I put my usual chair legs on it until I make fancier ones, maybe.  Also the last picture is of the doll I thought that I would try making.  Since I made that Santa for Christmas I thought perhaps I would give bjd making a go.  I add some more pics of her as I progress a bit further.

Sudden Death. . . . . . . . of My New Band Saw UPDATED

I used to cut the curves, circles and such for different pieces of furniture with a fret or coping saw that is hand held.  Eventually, I decided that a scroll saw would work better and it did until I started to make things from thicker pieces of wood.  Now I have a band saw.  It was only three months old when tragedy struck.  It started with a little tapping noise that moved onto a full blown pop.  The bearing in the upper wheel that helps move the saw blade around decided to come apart.  As you will see in the following two pics. n_n
You can see the little ball bearings saying hello there inside of the bearing.  This is what I saw when I opened up the band saw.  I had opened up the saw before to try and find what I thought was something loose and moving around.
This is what fell out of the band saw after I opened it up.  The little wavy washer is what is supposed to keep the ball bearings inside of the bearing.
So what does this all mean. . . . .Well I looked the company that makes the band saw up online and you can send them your tool and they will repair it and send it back.  Down fall of this is I would have to send my saw to the States and I live in Canada.  With our dollar being really low at this time it would cost quite a bit to ship the band saw there and even more to have it returned.  Another option was to call the company and order new parts.  Of course they need to check their warehouse to see if they have them in stock.  If they are not in stock they will need to be ordered from Germany and could take three months to arrive.   Then my final option is to call my father and see if he can fix it.  He's one of those people that can fix and do almost anything (exempt food, cooking is not his thing, unless you can count bbqing as cooking)
So what does this mean for furniture making.  Hopefully just a slight hiccup for now.  I have several pieces almost done in 1/4 scale.  Yet this happened when I was cutting out the pieces I needed to start making some 1/3 scale furniture.  So for now I'll finish what I have started (pics soon) and work more doll clothes 1/3 and 1/4 size.
Sorry for the rant.  Good way to start the new year. n_n

UPDATE: She's fixed.  I took the entire wheel assembly to my dad and he took it apart.  Each wheel has two bearings so that it runs smoothly.  Well, the bearing that came apart, because two of the tiny ball bearing inside had a defect of not being totally round.  So part of them were flat.  So when the bearings would turn and the ball bearings inside would spin round.  They wouldn't spin round properly.  My dad removed the two defective ball bearing and replaced them with ones he had saved from something else he a had worked on.  Then put everything back together.  n_n  I still ordered four new bearings from Proxxon.  Just to be on the safe side and shit decided to go every where again.  Since it's now fixed I have been cutting out more 1/4 and 1/3 sized chairs and such.
