First Listing

Well I took the leap, jump, fall. . . .
I finally got the courage to try and list something on etsy.com.

I'm not to pleased with the pictures and how they turned out.  The day I find the time to take photos the sun decides not to show itself very much.
You can see in the photos that I have a floor.  I found a wooden frame with plywood on it at the art supply store which makes a perfect base for a room box.  So far I only have a floor.  Walls are to follow.
I have an idea for making different kinds of walls to interchange with the floor.  Well, it's an idea.

By the end of the week I'll try and have more things listed.

Sofa or Loveseat?

This is just a test piece. Some people do a sketch before they start making something. I just find some pictures of what I want to make and start making.  I do make templates for pieces that I want to recreate.
The sofa was turning out fairly well, for a while. But since I have decided to change to scale of the furniture by a bit I decided to stop with this piece.

The major change will be the depth of the seat.  I also won't be using a solid piece of wood for the base but instead will make a frame.

A Change of Size

After thinking about it for a while I decided to change the size of my furniture.  I came to this realization when I dug out my Narae and sat her in a chair I had finished.  She didn't look right at all.  Narae's have strangely long legs. Even thought they are just a centimetre taller than a Minifee.
So I decided to start over with making desks and tables, and chairs. I added a half an inch to the chair height and played around with the other measurements.  I added a quarter of an inch to the table legs to bring them up just a bit.
You can see the major difference in the two sizes. The chair on the right also has a tiny bit more depth to the chair seat.
I'm happy with the changes I've made. Just need to keep making more things. n_n

A Table for Two

Had to remake the top of the table. The first attempt ended up twisting and warping because of the thinness of the wood and glue combination.  So to fix the problem I added another circle of wood to the underside of the table. You can see this in the next picture.  I glued the three circles of wood together with the grains going in opposite directions of one another.  This prevents a good amount of twisting and warping.

The top of the table still needs to be painted. But so far I really like how everything turned out.

The centre leg of the table I carved by hand.
